Schaeffler High-Precision Positioning of Circuit Boards
New tape tension pulleys, developed by Schaeffler Group Industrial for conveyor systems in automated pick-and-place machines, enable the reliable, high-precision positioning of circuit boards and thus improve the efficiency of placement processes. The compact assemblies are especially easy to mount and offer high economic efficiency due to the manufacturing technologies used.
(Toothed) belts in pick-and-place systems for electronic assemblies must offer extremely precise conveyance and placement of circuit boards. The smaller these transport belts, the larger the circuit board area that can be populated and the more efficient is the population process. Standard tape tension pulleys are not up to this task ˇ§C for instance, with regard to tilting clearance, friction torques, service life, dimensions and tolerances.
In close cooperation with its customers, Schaeffler Group Industrial has therefore developed a tape tension pulley that operates much more accurately than previously used products. This is due to increased tilting rigidity as well as a low and even friction torque. The high load rating, the large grease reservoir and the integrated seal fully meet the high requirements for performance and cleanliness. Due to the manufacturing techniques and the consistent deployment of non-variable parts for variants with and without gear teeth, the ready-to-fit assembly offers especially high economic efficiency.
